we frolicked around piedmont park today to document the last couple of weeks as a family of three. we had an absolute blast, and can not thank cheryl & jackie enough for humoring our wish to snap some family pictures! we think they captured our excitement so well! you can see the full set here.

30+ weeks.
it's october 15th!?!? the time is just melting away, and we're trying out best to savor each day of this journey. daydreaming about this little lady is at an all time high, but we're also trying to enjoy these last couple of months alone.
we're still in the midst of gathering everything together for her, but for some reason we can't seem to check off things as fast as we add them!
she's been wiggling around in there like crazy over the past couple of weeks, and it still amazes me when i can see one of her limbs move across my belly through my shirt. there's a little alien lady inside of my now 35 inch bump!

24 weeks.
oh my goodness, it's already september, and here we are 6 months into this journey. it's high time i start tracking my fast growing bump at 34 inches w i d e . whoa! over the past few weeks, d and i have been readying our tiny nest for this tiny lady. it still baffles me that such a small being needs so much stuff.
i first felt her really, really move on august 13th at 21.5 weeks along. d felt her that same night, and she's been dancing on and off ever since.
size of little p: a cantaloupe.

dear little bird...
we're halfway there little one, and you've been so good to your mom so far. keep it up! we get crazy giddy thinking of the day we'll meet. mom will inspect your entire sweet little being and oohh and ahhh of how you grew inside the womb. dad will hold you so closely and have a tough time letting go. and let's not even get started on the love you'll be showered with from your grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins & dear friends. and your new best friend, bella.
a few things about your crazy family....
*no one else will love you the same way. ever.
*our wish is that you grow to be strong, bright, independent, mindful, & creative. would including genius be greedy?!
*we will take a gazillion pictures of you. and then a gazillion more. you'll either be a good sport or have a lot of baby pictures looking pissed off. you choose.
*we have high expectations. we'll work to keep them attainable.
*be kind to bella. she will teach you how to love and be your greatest partner in mischief.
*we'll do our best to lead you on the right path for you, but we won't always get it right. be patient.
*we will always be your biggest fans. unless you're doing something stupid, then we'll be your worst nightmare. again, you choose.
*aside from the love we have for each other, you are our greatest love... even if you're only 13 tiny ounces right now.
grow strong, little lady. we are patiently waiting with giant, brimming hearts.
you are the best thing.

reactions.
telling our loved ones about our little bird has been one of the most amazing parts of this journey so far. we wish we could've captured more reactions, but these are pretty perfect. enjoy!

have you ever seen less muscular arms?! i have no excuse for not working out regularly, but for some reason i just haven't been in the mood. i've gotten some motivation back, and hopefully it sticks.
our list of things to do before december keeps growing and nothing seems to be getting crossed off... how is this possible?!
our appointment for our 20 week scan is next week, and then we'll find out the gender with a few loved ones. eeeek! update: see our gender reveal video here.

where did june & july go!? i'm hoping i'm savoring each day, but i'm sure i could do a better job. over the past week, i've officially "popped"! i'm still squeezing into as much of my normal clothes as possible, since most people at work don't know yet.
i don't think i've felt the kicks yet, but i'm anxiously awaiting them, and i know d is too! we find out if this little peanut is a boy or girl next week, and we're over the moon excited!
{thanks to stacy for taking this picture!}

time is flying! it's hard to believe that sweet p has been growing in there for so many weeks. david refers to my belly as a beer gut, and that's exactly what it resembles. it's just too bad i can't actually enjoy beer right now!
we're getting very attached to this little person already. we try to entertain them daily- i ask how p's day was or if they want a tv or iphone in there. david cracks some silly joke. and bella enjoys sleeping

thankfully i am not growing as speedily as little p is right now! we heard the heartbeat a couple of weeks ago, and it was like magic. definitely one of the best days of our lives.
a couple of other magical moments happened while telling our family and a handful of my dearest friends. we tried to snap pictures of everyone's reaction- i'll post some soon!
we're eager to start making room in our tiny condo for this little one, i feel like december will be here at the blink of an eye!
